About the location of the Sichiken

Sichiken is located in Hakushu-cho, Hokuto City, about 40 minutes by car or about an hour by train.

If you plan to visit Shichiken, it would be more efficient to also visit other sightseeing spots in Hokuto City. Recommended areas include Seisenryo in Kiyosato and Moegi Village. There are also spots where you can try horseback riding(https://www.hokuto-kanko.jp/guide-tag/%E4%B9%97%E9%A6%AC%E4%BD%93%E9%A8%93).

It takes 30 minutes at the earliest to look around, or about an hour and a half if you take your time. You can shop, take photos, and sample sake.

It is precious to be inside this 180-year-old traditional building. If you would like to tour the sake brewery, please make a reservation in advance.

You can see the inside of the building and shop without making a reservation. Reservations are required to see the back of the building and tour the sake factory.

The pressed rice produced during the sake making process is called sake lees. Sake lees goes well with cooking, and is sometimes used in sweets. It is also used for sweet sake(AMASAKE) non-alcohol.

You can also purchase sake. We also sell sake that is limited to sake breweries and rare draft sake. Some products require refrigeration, so it’s best to drink them while you’re still in Japan.

One-day bus tours are also recommended

We also recommend taking a bus tour where you can stop at the Suntory Hakushu factory, which makes whiskey, and Sichiken, which makes sake, and sample the sake.

Do you know about sightseeing taxi?

For around 6,000 yen to 10,000 yen a day, you can rent a taxi and go sightseeing to the places you want to visit or recommended places. You’ll have a dedicated driver driving you around, so you can feel safe while sampling sake.

You can also use a regular taxi instead of a tourist taxi. Taxi fares are 4,000 yen from Kobuchizawa Station and 2,000 yen from Nagasaka Station to get to Sichiken.

The cheapest option is to get off at Nagasaka Station on the JR Chuo Line and then take a taxi.
