Sakura trees are very delicate, and even a small scratch can cause serious damage. You may want to see the beautiful flowers up close, but do not break the Sakura’s branches or pull the ends of the Sakura’s branches to take pictures.

You can touch Sakura “Petals" only Fallen Naturally

Sakura trees are very delicate and vulnerable to scratches and infections. Sakura trees are the property of the owner of the land, so Do Not Touch them.

However, it is okay to pick up the petals that have fallen to the ground. Also, if there are Sakura blossoms that have fallen off along with their branches, it is okay to touch them as long as they have fallen naturally.

If you pick up fallen Sakura petals or branches and take a photo, please put them back in the original place. Also, do not return Sakura petals or branches that have been touched by humans to the Sakura tree(To prevent infection).

It is forbidden to hold a Sakura branch and hold it close to yourself to take pictures.

It is permitted to take pictures with the Sakura blossoms without touching the low Sakura blossom branches.

It’s illegal to break a Sakura tree branch

If you damage a Sakura tree or branch, you run the risk arrest for criminal damage, regardless of whether you are a foreigner.

Spitting or coughing on the Sakura tree is also prohibited as it is considered a serious insult. It is forbidden to give leftover coffee or water to the Sakura trees, as there is a risk of infection.

You can get up to 10 cm or 4 inches away, but never touch Sakura.

Japan has a culture of valuing nature as it is. The beauty of the whole scenery you see is important, and the beauty of each individual is also important.
